Known for its beautiful old buildings, peaceful streets, flowing water furrows and wide-open landscapes, the town has a wonderfully relaxed feel. We’re so excited to share this special corner of South Africa with you.

Our Story
It all started in 2019 and since then, we've covered a fair amount of ground together. We've shared seven years of adventures... cycling up hills that seemed a good idea at the time, hiking trails that were definitely longer than promised, running side by side (well not always…), exploring new places, and even building two houses together-which taught us that love, patience and choosing finishes can all be tested at once!
These photos capture some of the moments that brought us closer: the grand adventures, the quiet joys, the occasional wrong turn and the simple happiness of finding someone with whom every day is filled with light and fun.

Ceremony
The shuttle will take all guests to the Danssaal. The ceremony will take place on gravel, out in the open. Hats and sunglasses are advisable. Umbrellas provided.

Shuttle buses will depart from the Danssaal for a 20 min drive to the wedding venue.
Shuttles will return to Prince Albert at various intervals from 11:30pm.

Things To Do In Prince Albert
Energising
- Walking or cycling around the village is one of the best ways to appreciate some of the many well preserved buildings in the town, with their Victorian stoeps and Cape Dutch gables, a unique type known as the Prince Albert gable. Grab a coffee at one of the many quaint coffee shops.
- Parkrun every Saturday morning – a Karoo trail up onto the koppie. Phone 023 541 1066 for details.
- Go for a cycle ride – you can hire a bike at Prince Albert Cycles 083 395 9038
- Hike the Gordon Koppie trail on the hill outside town (a comfortable 1,6km). It’s ringed by vineyards and olive farms. It starts at the end of Bergsig Street.
- Hike the Swartberg Pass day trails. Permits are required and you can get one from the Lazy Lizard or from Cape Nature online.
- Learn about Karoo plants on a guided walk. If this is your thing, contact ‘Renu Karoo’ to book a fascinating two hour guided tour with Dr Sue Milton-Dean (082 770 0206), at Wolwekraal Nature Reserve. Sue will do a walk for us on Sunday morning at 8am if interested.
Relaxing
- Join a yoga class or enjoy a massage, reflexology or reiki at ‘Simply Saffron’ in Kerkstraat.
- The Swartberg Hotel also offers massages.
Savouring
- Visit Weltevrede Fig Farm for THE most delicious fig tart and preserves (35 mins from PA on a bumy dirt road). Open Frid 9am-4pm, Sat 9am-2pm, Closed Sunday.
- Olive oil tasting at O for Olive (5km from the centre of town) open from 9am-2pm on Saturdays and Sundays and 9am-4pm Tues-Frid. Book guided tours in advance. There is a café there to enjoy a delicious olive platter lunch.
- Cheese tasting at Gays Guernsey Dairy Open Mon-Frid 7am-4pm, Sat 7am-3pm, Sunday 7am-12am
- Pop in at the historic Swartberg Hotel and enjoy the elegant surroundings. The hotel dates back to the 1860’s and is a national heritage site . Enjoy gin tasting in the bar and have a meal in the Victorian restaurant.

Q&A
How do I get to and from the Wedding Venue?
Shuttles will collect you in Prince Albert before the ceremony and return from 11:30pm onwards.
It is not recommended to drive, although the road is tarred and in good condition.
When do I need to RSVP by?
Please RSVP by 15 November 2026.
If you know you will not be able to make it, please advise us at your earliest convenience.
What is the Dress Code for the Wedding?
Karoo Summer Formal
Embrace an elegant summer look with flowing midi or maxi dresses in luxurious, lightweight fabrics. Think graceful silhouettes, delicate details, and an effortlessly sophisticated finish.
Linen suits or tailored jackets with collared shirts for the gents. Ties are optional.
The reception will be outside on the grass, bring a jacket or a pashmina!

Will the ceremony and reception take place at the same venue?
The ceremony and reception will be held at two separate venues. Please note that there is no parking available at the ceremony venue. Shuttle services will transport guests directly from the ceremony to the reception afterwards.
What time should guests arrive on the wedding day?
Shuttle pickup details will be shared closer to the wedding date.
